Letter to Herseth Sandlin: support impeachment

To:
The Honorable Stephanie Herseth Sandlin
331 Cannon House Office Building
Washington, DC 20515

April 29, 2007

The President and the Vice President continue to be unresponsive to the wishes of the American people. Support for the Iraq war and the unprecedented policies behind it is failing as Americans learn more about what has occurred. An election in which their party lost their once-comfortable majority, public approval ratings in the 20's, and the advice of the Iraq study commission have all been insufficient to convince this Administration that it must redeploy from Iraq or at least make major changes.

Only the threat of impeachment for their many unlawful actions here at home, in Guantanamo, and Iraq will make any impact. An impeachment resolution has already been introduced to Rep. Kucinich and more will follow. I urge you to please support impeachment resolutions as they are introduced.

This is the best thing you could do to support our brave soldiers is to force the Executive Branch to respond to the demands of the American people through their elected representatives. If in the end they do not respond, and must be removed from office for continuing to fail to meet their responsibilities and live with the guidance of the US Constitution, that is exactly what the Founding Fathers intended.

Please support impeachment resolutions that come before the U.S. House.

Thank you.

That sounds like fun...I think I will start a petition to impeach whoever the next liberal president is; I'm sure I could make up a ton of stuff to impeach them about, heck I could just use the demorats playbook to create some impeachable offenses. I read various information from the "Impeach Bush" websites--weak.

  2. Gotta love those anonymous quotes. Seriously folks, even if you use a snarky handle that really does improve the conversation.

There is a reason it's hard to impeach a president or a judge; the people must decide and it isn't easy.

Have you heard about HR 333? I urge you and your readers to take a few minutes to look at:

It's a list of the 25 most recent comments made by real Americans participating in an online poll/letter-writing campaign concerning the impeachment charges recently filed against Vice President Cheney, which are now being evaluated by the House Judiciary Committee. Comments can be sent to elected representatives and local newspapers at your option. The participation page is at:

Since this campaign began, three members of Congress have signed on as co-sponsors, in part due to hearing from their constituents. Make your voice heard, and let others know!
