Flowers vs. veggies: Neighbors' gardens in friendly duel
There’s a battle growing between neighbors on East Centennial Street in Rapid City. It’s not exactly the Hatfields versus the McCoys; it’s more like the flowers against the vegetables.
The competition is between next-door gardeners Trinity and Donell Bullinger and Beth Wojahn. Donell Bullinger said she and her husband are leading the gardening war with their impressive 12-foot by 60-foot raised-bed vegetable garden that spans the entire width of their large backyard. Wojahn, on the other hand, believes she is the clear winner where flowers are concerned.
