Black Hills Gay Pride event expands to four days

" If you have a problem with what you've seen in this [comment] thread, I heartily invite you to join Equality South Dakota at the Black Hills Center for Equality tomorrow [Friday]; there is an open house from 11 to 4, with a presentation on the "gay agenda" of EqSD at 12 and 1. (We have one item on our agenda: for GLBT folk, their family in friends to be treated the same as anyone else. Quite radical and scary, I know.)

11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Events and socializing at Canyon Lake Park at shelter No. 3. HIV testing will be available.

Treasure Trail 11:00am This event is a 2 person team event. This is a poker run. At each clue destination you will receive a playing card, and the clue to the next destination. When you reach the final destination you will combine your cards to produce a winning hand. The team with the best combined hand will win.

Pet Pride We all have Pets we are proud of. Place pride colors on your pet and show them off during Pridefest 2009. Please follow park rules. All pets must be on a leash.

Drag Run There will be 2 categories, Drag King(female to male) and Drag Queen(male to female). This is another Team Event. Each team will consist of the contestant and their court. There will be 4 stations. At each station the contestant will add something to their persona to create the final result, the court will assist the contestant get dressed for their finale. The event will happen in this order. Start line. The contestant will start out in appropriate swim wear, they will run to station 1

Station 1 court member will help begin dressing contestant Male will put on panty hose and bra female will put on boxer shorts and binding for upper body

Station 2 Male will put on dress, female will put on jeans and flannel shirt

Station 3 Male will put on makeup to include eyes shadow blush and lip stick and wig, Female will draw on mustache and beard , add tool belt and hard hat

Station 4 Drag Queen will put on high heels Drag King will pull on work boots Then run to stage and begin performing the song the DJ is playing. Winner will be determined by a panel of judges.
