The Blue Shift in South Dakota

Yes, we got creamed last week, but this map from the New York Times looks pretty great. It shows the shift between 2004 and 2008 in Presidential vote by county. Note the only part of the country becoming more red is pretty depopulated and in such tough straits that even they will get it eventually.

Here's the zoom-in to South Dakota. A shout out to my friends in Lawrence County! Things are looking up in the long term up there, with the growing university, the lab, and all things they continue to bring to the area...
