Pit bull sans lipstick!

Dear Spouse came across this comment on a Washington Post blog "The Trail" (Obama Camp Responds to Palin Attacks) and wanted to share it:

Here's the thing about pit bulls -- yes, they can be vicious, but they are also dumb. They can be sweet and loyal, but if something small and fast runs by, including children, they lose their crackers and will attack it. Not the world's most flattering analogy.

Note to self - If I ever make it to a major political convention, do not compare self to dog who operates on 99.9% base instinct.

Dear Spouse also introduced herself at a candidate event this morning as "a hockey mom, yes, and a pit bull, yes, when defending my kids... but I sure don't wear lipstick."

  1. OldSarg posted a comment that was extremely disrepectful to the Democratic candidate and ignorant of the facts. I don't have room for that here.

  2. Please feel free to read this and then delete it. You don't need to print this at all or share it with anyone else. This is just for you. You could have just deleted my comment but no. You made a statement that about my posting that I cannot defend since my comment can no longer be judged. My statement was not disrespectful. You have decided that it is more important to censure information that is truthful so it doesn't hurt your agenda. It's like your stand on killing the unborn children. Your not "for" abortion but you are worried about what your peers around you would say about you if you stood up against the selfish evil of abortion. You agree with the lie that it's the woman's right-to-choose when you know in your heart that to kill is a sin, anyway you look at it. God wrote it in stone. Don't turn your back on Christ. This life is too short. You only get one go around. This is a hard world and none of us are perfect. I'm certainly not but I do believe we have to try and do good.

OK, you convinced me. Dear readers: here's the post I deleted; judge for yourselves. What say you? Should I delete stuff like this, in the name of raising the bar on the honesty and integrity of discussions held on the Radical's turf?

But wait! You have to answer it like Osama would without a TelePrompter: "Uh, Here's uh the thing uh about pit bulls uh -- yeah uh, they uh can be vicious uh uh, but they are uh also dumb."

    And in response to...

Don't turn your back on Christ ... This is a hard world and none of us are perfect. I'm certainly not but I do believe we have to try and do good.

Couldn't agree more. But for me, doing good includes doing all I can to protect the women in my life from those that want the government absolute control over their bodies and their lives.

I also believe firmly that it's impossible to turn our back on God... we can't turn our back on God. He loves us and has a role for us even when we, in our hubris, try to turn away. It's up to us to constantly work to turn toward God and the blessings he offers us to claim every day.
I heard God is a big fan of the truth too and loving your neighbor as yourself... arguably there wasn't much of that coming out of St. Paul MN last week.

And about that Jesus Christ ... you may recall from Matthew 4 that he started out as a community organizer. The laying down His life to help billions to return to God stuff came later on.

Well said, cp. Yeah, I wouldn't have posted that either. It was pretty ugly, and not at the level of discussion that I'm used to seeing on your blog.

It's one thing to have an opinion about something. It's one thing to believe strongly about something, and even claim it as truth. And it's good to have healthy discussion about differing opinions, and to sometimes even get jabs in at one another about that which we don't agree on . . . It's another thing entirely to be blatantly disrespectful by purposefully spreading propaganda about someone by using a name that invokes fear and hatred.

I am amazed at how some people appear to be so caring about the unborn, or so knowledgable about scripture, to call themselves Christians, and yet, they can be so hard-of-heart and mean-spirited.

It's not that your opinions aren't valuable, OldSarg, but your comments and remarks are mean, and you are hurtful, and it seems like it's all because cp is not anti-choice like you are. Beyond that ONE thing, you know nothing about cp, yet you find reason after reason to pick and snide and act like a jerk. The way to change hearts and minds is not to ridicule and shame people, to talk down at them and act superior. I think cp has been more than fair posting the smack that you've written. I suggest you tone it down, or move on, before none of your comments get posted anymore.
